This was announced on Friday, July 15, so I apologize for not picking it up until now (Tip of the hat to a reader for reminding me about this). This could have some interesting implications in this region, as jobs will be created to build the Anacortes railroad terminal. Mike Marcy, a spokesman for Tesoro, told the Skagit Valley Herald that it would create 30 full-time positions once it is operating.

A man died Sunday after sheriff’s investigators say he was severely beaten at his home near Concrete in Skagit County.The 54-year-old man showed up beaten at United General Hospital in Sedro-Woolley, said Tom Molitor, chief criminal deputy with the Skagit County sheriff’s office. He said the man had been assaulted at his home, but was unable to identify his assailants. Investigators did not identify the man.
