Air Force Reserve Airman Benjamin P. Dalton graduated recently from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. He is the son of David Dalton of Richmond and brother of Danny Dalton of Louisa.Kristin E. Wofford of King George County recently entered Basic Cadet Training at the U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colo., in preparation to enter the first academic year at the academy. The six-week, two-phased orientation program must be successfully completed by the cadets prior to entering their freshman year. She is the daughter of Mary Elizabeth and Joel Wofford of King George, and graduated in 2011 from a home school program....

The death of a 26-year-old Richmond woman whose body was found behind a McDonald's in Louisa County is being treated as suspicious, authorities said yesterday.According to a news release from the Louisa County Sheriff's Office, Kristan Charlene Fox was taken to Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville by two friends last Wednesday....
Louisa man sentenced in drug case
A Louisa County man has been sentenced to prison for selling opiate pain-reliever patches to a young mother who later overdosed on them and died. Matthew Glenn Minster, 30, was given an active sentence of two years and six months Friday in Louisa Circuit Court, according to the court’s records. Minster previously pleaded guilty to distributing fentanyl patches. He was acquitted of felony murder of his housemate, 24-year-old Nicole Brockett, during a trial in October.

Public input sought on proposed Va reactor
Federal regulators are seeking public input on an environmental impact evaluation of Dominion Power's plan to build a third nuclear reactor at its North Anna Power Station. The Nuclear Regulatory Commission said Thursday that it will hold a public meeting Feb. 3 at Louisa County High School in Mineral. Written comments will be accepted until March 20.

A Louisa County man arrested after his two toddlers tested positive for drugs has pleaded not guilty to two counts of felony child neglect. Twenty-five-year-old Derrick Christmas entered his plea in circuit court Thursday, three days after pleading not guilty to two related drug charges.

A Louisa County man who was arrested after his two toddlers tested positive for drugs has pleaded not guilty to related drug charges. Derrick A. Christmas entered his plea Monday in Louisa Circuit Court. Louisa County Commonwealth's Attorney Thomas A. Garrett Jr. says Christmas is charged with one count of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of cocaine with intent to distribute. Both are felonies.
