Friday November 18, 2011 BENNINGTON -- The Vermont Department of Health has warned health care providers around the state of an increase in cases of whooping cough, including at least one in Bennington County. Whooping cough, or pertussis, is preventable with a vaccine. It is a highly contagious disease of the lungs that is caused by a bacterial infection.
Solar project eyed in Vermont town
Some land in one Vermont community is being considered for a solar array project. Vermont Energy Parks LLC, a company based in Connecticut, intends to apply for the project on 20 acres in Stamford.
